Travel • (Totoro) May's Garden House Restaurant, Bangkok (Dec 2018)

Image
We made a trip to May's Garden House Restaurant ,Bangkok in December. This restaurant is the first Totoro themed restaurant officially licensed by Studio Ghibli and opened sometime mid of last year. It was not really easy to locate in Sukhumvit area but easily a favourite for their Instagram-able surroundings and food! It does get crowded, especially during tea-time! Good thing, they have started online reservations recently so we need not waste our precious Bangkok time waiting in line for a table! Details at the end of the post. (♡˙︶˙♡) If you are a fan of My Neighbour Totoro (and the K-bros! Haha!), this photo is for you! ♡(∩o∩)♡ Even if you are not, the food can be a reason to visit too! The hubs ain't a fan of anime and theme cafes as the food served are usually mediocre but over here, the restaurant's setting is simple and somewhat elude Thai accents amidst subtle Totoro decos. Little details like this can be seen around the restaurant. That's a sw...

Image
I just got myself an Airfryer and have been experimenting with some recipes. This Tom Yum Grilled Chicken is my trial recipe which worked! It's so easy to make and perfect for salad or as a sandwich filling. Plus point is, the airfryer doesn't dry out the chicken breast meat. I'm definitely gonna cook a bigger portion the next round ✌️ Edited Recipe , using 2 Chicken Thighs.  The flavor is not over powering, even 2yo Mini K had some for dinner! πŸ˜‹ Ingredient: 2 Large Chicken Thighs, Boneless Seasoning: 1cube Knorr Tom Yum stock cube 1tsp Sugar 1tsp Garlic powder 1tsp Light Soy Sauce 4tsp Sake 4tsp Mirin Dashes of Black Pepper 1TBS Cornflour Method: •Wash & pat dry chicken thighs, make some slits on the flesh with a knife. •Mash a cube of Knorr Tom Yum stock cube & add in all the seasonings, except Cornflour. Recipe • Pandan Leaf Chicken

Image
Hi!!! Thanks for popping by! MamaBerl says.... This is officially the first post! Lol πŸ˜† I finally kick start my blog right on the half mark of year 2016! Starting with an easy recipe, using seasonings easily found in the kitchen! Ok. Maybe the complex part is wrapping of the chicken! Pandan leaf chicken , a common appetiser dish at Thai restaurants. It's pieces of chicken stuffed & wrapped in  pandan leaves , usually fried & served with a sweet chilli dip. πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ This dish is often a hit with Lil K but at times, a miss. He doesn't really like heavily spiced flavors, particularly pepper/lemongrass. So, I attempt a MamaBerl's version. Using seasonings that my guys will approve! Therefore this recipe isn't authentic Thai flavors but u can serve it to anyone from young to old! *Very important to a cooking mama* πŸ‘ A mix of crisp & moist!! Delish! Please copy and paste the URL if you'd tried and wish to share this recipe. Thank you! Rec...
