Travel • Winter Queensland Itinerary (June 2019)
We traveled to Queensland Australia during the June school holidays.
It was a self-drive vacation, covering Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. I'm sharing our Queensland (June 2019) itinerary and some information links here, detailed blog post to individual attractions and accomodation will be updated along the way (highlighted yellow).
I hope you'll find the information useful! ♡(∩o∩)
Day 1 (Friday)
• 6:30am (Local Time)
Arrived at Brisbane Int'L Airport after an overnight flight.
-We bought data sim card from Optus counter at Arrival hall, it was only A$25 per card with 55GB of data!
(Thankful to the travel sharing at SHC Travel Facebook Page, I read useful information on such affordable data card available in Australia, therefore I did not rent pocket wifi for this trip. Do join the group if you are looking for genuine sharing of travel tips!)
-Proceed to collect our car which we rented from Apex Car Rental.
(´∀`)♡ We were all ready to begin our 11 days self-drive holiday from here!
• Paradise Country Farmstay, Gold Coast
1 hour drive from Brisbane Airport.
•1 night stay at the farm, glamping style!
Day 2 (Saturday)
• Breakfast at the farm, followed by sunrise activities & opal mining.
• Check-out of Paradise Country and proceeded to Movieworld, using the free admission tickets given by the farm.
• Check-in to our Airbnb apartment for the next 7 nights. I highly recommend this Superhost's apartment!
Day 3 (Sunday)
• Whale watching
Day 4 (Monday)
•Seaworld
Day 5 (Tuesday)
•Byron Bay Skydive
where the husband had his #YeoOLO skydive experience.
•Dinner at Delicious Hot Pot, which was somewhere opposite Australia Fair.
Day 6 (Wednesday)
•Dreamworld
Day 7 (Thursday)
•Thursday is late-night shopping in most parts of Australia, so we dedicate this day to retail therapy aka "Our Time" ~(^з^)-♡
Day 8 (Friday)
• Movieworld
We bought Movieworld & Seaworld combo tickets from Klook prior to our trip, hence we had to visit Movieworld once more despite already done it on day 2.
Day 9 (Saturday)
6.30am (Local Time)
• Yet another early morning, we check-out of our Airbnb apartment and drove up North to Sunshine Coast.
-1st stop: Eumundi Markets
This market opens twice a week, Wednesday and Saturday, from early morning until 2:30pm.
It's quite big, with lots to see...mainly Australia handicrafts, paintings and food from different parts of the world!
-2nd stop: McMartins Strawberry Farm
-3rd stop: Check-in Novotel Twin Waters Resort
Dinner: Yum Cha Chinese Restaurant @ Sunshine Plaza.
Day 10 (Sunday)
• Australia Zoo
Day 11 (Monday)
• We were returning back to Singapore on a red eye flight that departs at 2:30am on Tuesday, so we had 1 full day after checking out of Novotel Twin Waters, to cover all the places we planned to go plus an extra unplanned location in between!
1st stop: McMartins Strawberry Farm
(again! At K-bros' request)
2nd stop: The Ginger Factory (highly recommended)
3rd stop: Nutworks & Chocs (opposite Ginger Factory)
4th stop: this was an unplanned stop along the way, beautiful sights uphill at Gerrard's Lookout.
5th stop: Maleny Dairies (must visit!)
•We drove towards Brisbane Int'L Airport after an early dinner at KFC!
•If we had skipped strawberry picking in the morning and completed the rest of the programmes ahead of time, we would be able to slot in Poppy's Chocolate Factory at Beenleigh which was just 40 minutes from Brisbane Int'L Airport! However they closed at 4:30pm, so we couldn't make it.
Disclaimer:
This is a full 11 days itinerary at a really relax and comfortable pace, which works for my family.
I am not affliated to the 3rd party links included in this post, vice versa.
I do not receive any form of commission when I mention them.
All information in this blog post are correct during the period of travel.

If you only have time for 1 theme park & have to choose between Dreamworld and Movieworld, please choose the latter. Dreamworld is a lil old and in need of a revamp, IMO. |
