Travel • Airbnb ~ Gold Coast Surfers Paradise (June 2019)
We did a fly-drive holiday to Queensland Australia during the June school holidays, covering Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
After checking out of Paradise Country Farmstay, we checked -in to this2-bedroom Airbnb apartment for 7 nights.

Information/Tour brouchures at main entrance |
It fits all my criteria:
-Centrally located at Surfers Paradise
My plan was either to stay at Broadbeach or Surfers Paradise. Finally decided on this particular apartment base on the rest of the criteria below.
Very please with this booking, this walk-up apartment was only 5 minutes walk to Coles and other amentities like Woolworths, Surfers beach, the thrice weekly evening bazaar were a few more minutes walk from Coles. It is near the busy stretch of Surfer's yet it isn't noisy at all!
Brownie point: 5 minutes walking distance to the meeting point for our whale watching cruise! |
There is a Japanese restaurant, Sushi Train, serving conveyor belt sushi right opposite our block. A 24-hour Chemist & a row of restaurants serving Korean, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Thai, Chinese, Subway, Starbucks, Gloria Jeans just a traffic junction behind our block.

Chinese Food This teppan fish was so good, Lil K had it twice! |
Korean Food Very glad to find this Korean joint which we ate before in 2012! |
Haaha! On 1 of the nights, we did takeaway for the teppan fish & Korean food. Comfort food in the comfortable Airbnb apartment. |

-Superhost
I filter and only shortlist Airbnb choices that are host by Superhosts. They have more experience hosting (most of them have more than 2 apartments listed), which means there'll be more reviews from previous guests and basically, I'll get to read more information like cleanliness and reliability of the apartment's description.
The space was indeed very clean! |
-Apartment size
Important factor: I wanted proper beds. I did not want to convert the sofa into bed as a sleeping arrangement which are available in some listings.
So it must be either 2 big beds or 1 big bed + 2 single beds/bunk beds only!
Bedroom 1 A King sized bed |
Bedroom 2 2 Single sized beds Loved the blackout curtains! |
Washer & Dryer in the bathroom Laundry detergent & softener provided |
Bathroom (there's no door for the standing shower so water tends to splash out as the water pressure was really strong!) |
Plenty of free parking lots in the covered garage! |
There was Netflix, free Wifi & board games!
Let's play BINGO! |
The fully euipped kitchen with microwave , crockery & utensils too! |
We stocked up the fridge and prepared simple brekkie! |
There's even a vending machine at the pool deck for the drinks & snacks craving! |
-Price!!!
I wanted nothing more than A$130/night during the search. (≧∇≦)
This accomodation only costed A$111/night, including service & cleaning fees!
Probably these 2 downsides to take note ...
1)This is a walk-up apartment, no elevators.
It was just a 2 x 15 flights of steps to our unit, not an issue for us though!
2)There aren't aircon in the 2 bedrooms, just ceiling fans. Aircon is installed in the living room.
The ceiling fans were really powerful, in fact it was cold in the nights (Winter months) even when we switched to the weakest mode!
We got what we booked for and most happy to share the information here.
If you are heading to Gold Coast and looking for an Airbnb to comfortably accomodate 4 persons, you may want to consider
Phil's Place. (。・ω・。)ノ♡
