Tutorial • Deco Egg Sheet
Hi! I'm back with another blog post, a tutorial on how to make Deco Egg Sheet :)
The egg sheets I make are more like a thin egg omelette, without adding corn starch, that's the way K-bros prefer.
Adding corn starch results in a smoother egg sheet but also a more rubbery texture.
I'm sharing the making of snowmen egg sheet here. Let's begin! ↖(^ω^)↗
Ingredients:
2 Eggs
½ tsp Sugar
Carrot, slice & parboiled
Crabstick, parboiled
Black Sesame Seeds
Sushi seaweed (optional)
Tiny bit of Mayo
Oil to grease pan
Tools:
Flat frying Pan & Spatula
Choice of Bento/Lunch Box
Cutting board
Teaspoon
Toothpick
Cutters (depends on your design)
Method:
•Prepare 2 small bowls, A & B.
Crack 1 egg into bowl A. Separate the egg white of the other egg into bowl B and add the yolk to bowl A.
•Add sugar to bowl A, whisk to mix well.
•Lightly grease frying pan, pour egg mixture from bowl A and fry over low heat.
Flip the egg carefully to briefly fry the other side. Dish up and place on a cutting board.
•Press out the egg sheet using the lunch box and slice to the size enough to cover rice/noodles that's going into the lunch box.
•With the nicer side of the egg sheet facing UP, use cutters (or bottle caps) to cut out desire designs.
•Heat up frying pan and place the egg sheet with holes onto the pan, with the nice side facing UP. Off the fire.
•Carefully fill each hole with egg white from bowl B, you may use a teaspoon. On the stove and cook over low heat till egg white set. Remove from frying pan.
•Fill lunch box with rice/noodles, place the egg sheet into lunch box.
•Decorate the snowmen! Smear/dab some mayo on egg white, use a toothpick to position the following:
Black sesame seeds for eyes
Carrot for nose
•Unroll the crabstick and cut strips of the red portion as snowmen's scarves.
•Fill up the empty portion of the lunch box with vegetables, meat, fruits of your choice!
I hope you'll have fun making your own deco egg sheet!
